![]() On the "Like A Prayer" album, "Express Yourself" is an old school funk jam -- but Madonna thought she could take the song a step further. Enlisting the help of perpetual collaborator Shep Pettibone, the song became a true house anthem for independent women everywhere on Shep's Non-Stop Express Mix. The remix was used to promote the incredible video clip, inspired by the late 1920s film "Metropolis," where the line between man and machine blurred. The remix was so good that Madonna opted to place it on "The Immaculate Collection," and many fans today say they consider this mix far superior to the album version. |
