Victor Calderone had already remixed five Madonna songs by the time he laid his hands on "Beautiful Stranger," and many thought the DJ was running out of steam. He proved them wrong as his storming club mix of Madonna's summer hit surpassed expectations. He took a lighthearted romp and found the darker side of it -- in his remix the "beautiful stranger" represented the unreachable ideal of those desperate for love. The flirt became a lonely soul longing for someone to fill their heart. |
