On this remix of "Like A Prayer," Shep Pettibone adds his umistakeable predilection for dance beats to a song already noted for its cross-genre mix. Tossing club beats into this rock-gospel-pop fusion may have been too much, but Shep handled it skillfully and the result was a fun mix that focused on the song's more celebratory side. Eventually used as the version of LAP on the Immaculate Collection, it is somewhat subtly remixed, and many fans consider the album version and remix to be roughly on par with each other. |
