Almost everyone knows Madonna's
biggest hits from the early '80s -- stuff like
"Material Girl" and
"Like A Virgin" -- but
"Crazy For You" is the
song that has stood the test of time. Even today,
numerous radio stations play the song regularly,
and you'll find far fewer people mocking this
sweet love ballad. It is also one of only two
songs to be featured on both of Madonna's major
collections -- "Something to
Remember" and "The
Immaculate Collection." "Crazy
For You" also stands as Madonna's second #1
single -- she would rack up five more in the next
four years. In the UK, "Crazy For You"
is one of several singles that were later
re-released. In both runs it peaked at #2,
although the 1991 re-release saw it hold on to
the runner-up spot for two weeks. The video shows
Madonna singing in a nightclub, along with other
clips from the film "Vision Quest."
TRIVIA: In the United States,
"Crazy For You" was released just three
weeks after "Material Girl." Also,
"Crazy For You" became so popular that
in several countries "Vision Quest" was
renamed "Crazy For You" to capitalize
on name recognition.
